Johan Vosloo started making jewellery at a young age dismantling my mother’s costume jewellery. Through my school years, my mind was set on becoming a goldsmith.
During my military years in 1992, I went on a weekend jewellery making course, that inspired me more to go into full-time studies at Wits. There I acquired my 3-year National Diploma in Jewellery Manufacturing and Design.
This laid a solid foundation in fine-art, gemmology, business management and design with the emphasis on manufacturing. On completion of my studies, I had the privilege to work at a workshop manufacturing Jenna Clifford designs.
I owned a jewellery shop in Pretoria for about 15 years. During these years, I designed and manufactured numerous beautiful pieces. I continued to seek inspiration and expanded my design skills in architecture, interior design and project management in the construction industry. Life’s path fortunately brought me back to my passion, jewellery design.
For the last couple of years, I had clients reaching as far as Australia, Mexico and Beijing.
